Multiple Myeloma:Report of a Case and Literature Review

Abstract

|
|
A case of multiple myeloma was reported and resent literature was reviewed. A 51-year-old Korean male had been admitted to Korea General Hospital in April 1972, with chief complaints of pain and tender swelling in the right buttock and mild dyspnea since two years prior to admission. Osteolytic punched-out -lesions were found in skull and other skeletal X-ray. films. Laboratory findings revealed anemia, hyperglobulinemia and Bence-Jones proteinuria. Sternal puncture´ revealed diffuse infiltration of atypical plasma cells , Cyclophosphamide, melphalan and steroids were tried with some clinical improvements.
